3 Places to Get Married Quickly

So you want to get hitched, and quick. Perhaps it is the exorbitant amount of money and time you have to spend to plan a wedding here. Or perhaps there are certain situations you would rather avoid (think Jim and Pam in The Office). Forget kitschy Vegas and its tacky wedding chapels. We show you three great places you can get married in without all the crazy months of planning:

1. British Virgin Islands, Caribbean

The Virgin Islands (as it is more commonly known) is so beautiful, that combining your wedding ceremony with your honeymoon only seems like the smart thing to do. Once you’re there, head to the post office in Road Town, Tortola, to get wedding stamps before heading to the Attorney’s Office for passport validation. Then make an appointment with the registrar. While waiting for your marriage certificate – which normally takes less than three working days – you can take in the sights leisurely or laze around the white sandy beaches.

2. Eureka Springs, United States

Located in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, Eureka Springs is a unique Victorian resort town. It hosts over 4,000 weddings a year – it’s also known as the “Wedding Capital of the South” – even though there were only 2,073 citizens here in 2010. That’s because most of the innkeepers are authorised to perform weddings and offer cheap packages. The best part about Eureka Springs is its countless inns and hotels, so you never have to wait long to get married.

3. Nevada

Perhaps it is because of its marriage laws that make Las Vegas such a popular spot for quick weddings. But Nevada has more to offer than rowdy casinos; you can easily find a chapel in the beautiful Lake Tahoe that offers affordable and quick ceremonies. And the law only requires you to have your driver’s license and some money to obtain a marriage license.

Turning Mr. and Mrs. doesn’t have to be a headache. The next time you’re thinking about going off on a holiday, you might want to check out if you can have a quickie wedding too!
