The bride normally takes charge of the whole wedding planning process, but if you’re lucky enough to get a guy who wants to get his hands dirty for you, there are certain tasks that he might be perfect for. Or perhaps you just want to get your groom more involved because this is also his wedding after all.
Here are some ways you can get him to help with the planning:
1. Set the wedding budget
No matter how equal the genders have become, the man usually still likes to be in charge of the money. Giving him the all-important task of setting the budget can boost his ego and make him feel more involved. If he isn’t very good with numbers, give him a few budget tools for him to choose from to help him with this task.
2. Negotiate with the vendors
Negotiating can help you save on cash or get extras for your packages. If he has great negotiation skills, let him work out a better deal with the vendors. He might just get you everything you want for a much lower price. Since he’s also doing the budget, he would very well know how much you guys can spend on each aspect of the wedding.
3. Select the alcohol to serve
Guys love their alcohol, and some really take pride in what they serve to their guests, so put your man in charge of the wine and bar menu. Get him to throw a wine-tasting party with his friends to try out new wines for the wedding. If he’s into bartending, get him to concoct a special cocktail just for your wedding.
You can’t separate boys and their toys, so why not give him the task of selecting the big day’s transportation? Renting luxury or exotic cars for weddings are a big thing right now. Send him off to test drive some of his dream cars while finding the perfect one for your wedding.
5. Decide the music
Have him research bands or DJs (depending on what you guys are deciding to go with) and choose the best. The two of you are bound to have songs that are “yours”. Get him to come up with a list of tunes for the band or DJ to play that include those too.
